FROGMORE
On the Pride of the Job award-winning site at Acer Close, St Albans, we had the privilege of completing a wide range of carpentry works across nine high-end residential homes. Our team played a pivotal role in delivering exceptional craftsmanship, which contributed to the site’s recognition and success.
Joist and Timber Roof Installation:
Our work on the project began with the critical installation of floor joists and the timber roof framework. We ensured that every joist was precisely cut and positioned to provide the necessary structural support for each of the nine houses. Our team paid close attention to the load-bearing requirements, ensuring that all elements were perfectly aligned and securely fitted.
The timber roofs were a focal point of the project. We installed bespoke roof trusses, with a focus on both functionality and aesthetics. The timber roofing structure was tailored to suit the unique design of each house, ensuring that all materials used were of the highest quality. The roofing not only met rigorous safety standards but also contributed to the overall visual appeal of the properties.
First Fix:
Following the completion of the structural elements, we moved on to the first fix phase. This stage involved the installation of essential carpentry framework, including partition walls, floor joists, and internal support structures. Every detail was carefully planned and executed, ensuring that the homes were ready for the subsequent stages of development.
We also fitted essential elements such as window frames, door linings, and rough timber work that laid the foundation for the internal layout and design. This phase was crucial in establishing the framework for the bespoke features that would follow, and our team’s precision ensured that everything was in place for the second fix.
Second Fix:
The second fix phase is where the finer details of the carpentry work came to life. We completed the full installation of internal doors, architraves, skirting boards, and window reveals, all of which were custom-finished to suit the elegant design of the homes. Bespoke niches was crafted and installed in the bathrooms, providing each bathroom with functional and stylish storage solutions that enhanced the overall design aesthetic.
Our team also installed staircases, handrails, and balustrades with careful attention to detail, ensuring that each feature was both visually appealing and safe. Every element was carefully finished to ensure a seamless fit and consistent, high-quality craftsmanship throughout the homes.
Conclusion:
Throughout the entirety of the Acer Close project, we maintained a high standard of quality control, working closely with the project management team to meet deadlines and ensure client satisfaction. The exceptional carpentry work completed on site, including the joist installation, timber roofing, and both first and second fix phases, played a significant role in the site’s success and recognition with the Pride of the Job award. Our team’s dedication to excellence and attention to detail helped transform nine luxury homes into finished masterpieces, demonstrating our ability to deliver outstanding results on large-scale projects.
